Poco después de la guerra con Chile, el primogénito de Alexander Blacker Thierry, Alejandro Carlos Blacker Higginson, se comprometió en matrimonio con su prima hermana María Luisa Higginson Carreño, quien era hija de Enrique Higginson Andrews y María Natividad Carreño.Debido a su grado de consanguinidad, la pareja tuvo que solicitar una dispensa especial a la Iglesia Católica para ser autorizados a contraer matrimonio. La boda se efectuó el 17 de diciembre de 1883 en la parroquia de San Sebastián en Lima. El novio tenía 31 años y la novia 22.
Lamentablemente la unión duró sólo seis años. Alejandro Carlos Blacker, quien era comerciante como su padre, cayó enfermo de tuberculosis pulmonar y murió en Lima el 27 de mayo de 1889. Sus restos fueron velados en la casa de la familia de su esposa que estaba ubicada en la calle de Aumente. El memorialista Heinrich Witt asistió al velorio y escribió en su diario que no hubo una gran concurrencia. Blacker Higginson tenía sólo 36 años y entre 1883 y 1885 había sido alcalde de Paita como su padre.
Alejandro Carlos Blacker y su esposa tuvieron tres hijos: El primero fue Alejandro Ricardo Emilio Ramón Blacker Higginson, quien nació en el pueblo de La Huaca el 6 de octubre de 1886 y murió casi un año después, el 25 de setiembre de 1887. La segunda hija del matrimonio fue María Luisa Blacker Higginson, quien nació en Paita en 1889, y la tercera descendiente fue Elisa Blacker Higginson, quien nació en Piura en 1890. Es decir, Elisa fue hija póstuma ya que su nacimiento se produjo cuando su padre ya había muerto.

Estimada Lizzie, me recomendaron no hace mucho tu Blog y me he vuelto un seguidor acerrimo. Soy historiador militar y militar tambien de profesion. Hay varios temas en los que , te pediría porfavor pongas mas la bibliográfica para indagar y profundizar mas el tema. Me estoy devorando todos los posts anteriores.Hay caso no necesarios como el de Blacker que es de conocimiento muy común.

I thought you may be interested to learn what happened to Charles Edward Blacker aka Juan Climacus Carlos Eduardo Blacker Raygada.
He married Eugenie King in Manchester on October 1908.My father Carlos Alejandro Blacker was born Paita Peru on 21st Oct 1909. As you point out he did make trips to and from Peru for some years following this.He was involved in Cotton and Worsted suitings, and was Managing Director of Seeger Bros Manchester
until his death on 20th January 1954 in Manchester.
The business was subsequently merged with a Textile Manufacturing company in Bradford called Pearson & Foster effectively making the Blacker family the largest shareholders in the Mill.My father Charles Alexander was joint Chairman & Managing Director until his death in Manchester on 14th May 1958.
I worked for this Mill until it went into liquidation in the early 1970's due to stiff competition from the far East.
I moved into Pharmaceuticals, and have now retired.
I also have a brother called John Edwin Alexander.I am married and have 2 daughters, and am hoping to visit Peru in the next year.
I am now aware of John Blacker Thierry's side of the family, and only just missed not being able to make contact with Carmen, Thetis, and John Blacker.
Could you let me know if there are any living relatives either in Peru, US (San Francisco) or UK.
One final question Lizzie do you have a date of death for Alexander Blacker Thierry.
